Airdrie MSP Alex Neil has congratulated the Airdrie recipients of grants from Awards for All. Four groups in the area have been successful in receiving grants, securing a total of £23,576 funding.
Plains Gala received a £4600 grant to organise a gala day to bring their communities together to enjoy a day of fun events and activities.
Rawyards Fishing Group received a £5000 grant to purchase a range of equipment and host a number of training expeditions, so as to offer more fishing-related activities to its members, and people interested in joining the group.
Greengairs Community Council received a £7370 grant to provide beginner and advanced IT training courses in the local community.
Dunrobin Primary School received a £6606 grant to purchase computer equipment to enable them to set up extra-curricular IT workshops for pupils and parents, targeted at children who need the extra support.
Mr Neil said:
“All of these programs are great ideas and will benefit the people of Airdrie and the surrounding villages; each program is an investment in improving our community.
“I congratulate the recipients of these awards on their hard work in securing these grants. I hope that each recipient is successful with their respective programs and I thank each of them for their dedication to our community.”
