North Lanarkshire Council’s Community Planning Partnership (CPP) is to benefit from over £7million worth of European money brought forward by the Scottish Government.
£2.6m of European Regional and Development Funding and £4.5m of European Social Funding has been passed on early to North Lanarkshire Council as part of a £53million pound injection into the Scottish economy.
The Scottish Government’s decision to bring forward the allocations has been warmly welcomed by Alex Neil MSP:
“At a time of great economic uncertainty this money is fantastic news for North Lanarkshire.
“This money arriving early will be of great benefit to community groups in North Lanarkshire. It will hopefully help to preserve jobs and give the North Lanarkshire economy a timely boost.
“I am delighted for the groups who will benefit from this cash.
“Through its economic recovery programme the Scottish Government will do all it can to ensure Scotland's economy is well positioned to take advantage when things begin to improve."
