NHS Board must make resource centre their top priority
Alex is calling on NHS Lanarkshire to make the construction of a state-of-the-art Airdrie Resource Centre its top priority in a multi-million pound investment in healthcare facilities. With the Scottish Government providing a £29.5million capital funding boost for the health board, and the uncertainty over the future of A&E provision at an end, Alex believes this effectively gives the green light to the project. The board of NHS Lanarkshire are expected to make a decision shortly, and Alex is calling on them to give final approval to the Resource Centre:

“There has obviously been a lot of uncertainty over the health service in Lanarkshire in recent months. I think it’s fair to say that this is all behind us and, and with the announcement of a funding boost to upgrade facilities, our health service has a bright future.

“The proposed Airdrie Resource Centre would be state-of-the-art – one of the most advanced primary care centres in the country, right here in Airdrie.

“With funding now available, I urge NHS Lanarkshire to avoid any further delay and give the Resource Centre the go-ahead.
